About Us
Pirate Bootie started as an idea for one of my children’s
fashion illustration class assignments. The idea was further developed
in a retail illustration class, and then polished in fashion marketing.
After graduation, I realized that my dream of having a children’s
clothing business could finally be a reality for me. I’ve
spent the past year designing patterns and developing the ideas
that you see in my gallery
and instock
store. I’ve also been busy designing
two one-of-a-kind patterns that won’t be available on my website.
Now
I have the best inspiration ever: to stay at home with the cutest
babies in the Midwest while making great clothes for all the other
cute babies around the world.
I graduated with highest honors from the Columbus College of Art
and Design with a BFA in Fashion Design. I’ve been sewing
for over 20 years and designing for 5. I’ve worked as a costume
designer, children’s wear technical designer, lingerie technical
designer, bridal alterations specialist, and a custom hat maker.
I also designed and constructed my own wedding gown.
I love what I do, and I hope you do too!
